This site provides the essential information, forms, contacts, and checklists that you will need to begin working at the NSSC. Your orientation starts here and will continue with onsite in-processing, briefings, training and management receptions. Welcome to the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC). The NSSC performs transactions and administrative activities in the areas of Human Resources, Information Technology, Procurement and Financial Management for NASA. By consolidating these services into one separate organization, the NSSC will enable Centers to focus on their core business and mission efforts. The NSSC will work collaboratively with NASA Centers to meet their service needs via a contact center. As a member of the NSSC team, you are joining a diverse group of individuals that specialize in these functional areas for all of NASA.

Where We're Going
On March 2006 the NSSC will finally open its doors for business. The NSSC will be a center that will perform a variety of transactional and administrative activities currently being done at each Center. Consolidation will allow the NSSC to increase operational efficiency and improve overall customer service. Initial services provided by the NSSC will be from four functional areas: human resources, financial management, procurement, and information technology.

Where We've Been
The NSSC began providing services in March 2006. The adventure to open our doors has been exciting and challenging.

Between November 2001 and May 2003, a variety of studies were completed by the Consolidated Businesses Services Organization (CBSO) culminating in a CBSO report, which recommended implementation of a NASA shared services center.

In August 2002, an Implementation Team was appointed with the mission “To establish a consolidated shared services organization that will provide higher quality, more cost effective and efficient services for selected NASA business and technical services.”
