collection containers call 4-9578.
Employees must ensure that wastewater and processes/equipment are properly permitted by the Clean Water and/or the Clean Air Act. Employees are required to maintain
appropriate records to document compliance with permits. Employees must strive to implement pollution prevention opportunities to replace, reduce, and reuse hazardous
chemicals. In addition, employees must procure an EPA list of designated items which contain recycled content. The products are grouped into eight categories that
include construction, landscaping, non paper office, paper, park and recreation, transportation, vehicular, and miscellaneous. For a detailed list of current products,
the following website,
http://www.epa.gov/cpg/products/ , must be evaluated prior to purchasing products that fall into one of the categories.
Employees must report all new chemicals on MSFC Form 4099. In addition, employees must report all chemical storage and usage during the annual chemical inventory call. Users should search the onsite chemical inventory (available at
http://eemo.msfc.nasa.gov/
environmental/haz_mat) and borrow chemicals prior to procuring if possible. The above website provides: material safety data sheets, chemical search query, and instructions for completing the chemical inventory.
