MICHOUD MISSION

NASA is an investment in America’s future. As explorers, pioneers, and innovators, we boldly expand frontiers in air and space to inspire and serve America and to benefit the quality of life on Earth.

The External Tank Resident Office reports to the External Tank Project Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama. The Resident Office is responsible for the oversight of production of the External Tank for the Space Shuttle and, in addition, supervises the operation of the Michoud Assembly Facility and interfaces with the various other occupants of the complex.

Our challenge is to enthusiastically build customized, large, world-class, mission-critical space hardware, quickly, professionally and synergistically to enhance and globally maintain long-term, high-impact ecumenical leadership in emerging technology while proactively protecting unique governmental assets and promoting personal employee growth.
