YOUR SPONSOR

  • As a new, transferring, or detailed employee you will be assigned a sponsor by your gaining organization. Your sponsor will be your new NASA “best friend”. Your sponsor is responsible for helping you get settled into your organization, workplace, and the local area.
  • Your sponsors basic role is to be available to answer your questions or find someone who can; offer suggestions and advice about your organization and the local area; and be available to help you find your way around at work.
  • Typically, your sponsor will assist you from the time of your offer letter to about a month following your entry on duty.
  • After you receive your job offer, your sponsor should contact you to answer any questions and offer you assistance.
  • Your sponsor will use the online checklist builder to generate a sponsor’s checklist based upon your employment type and your duty station.
