First Day Instructions

We look forward to seeing you on your report date. Many new employees and visitors to the Center confuse Langley Air Force Base and NASA Langley Research Center because they are located side-by-side. Ensure that you are entering NASA on your report date. Prior to attempting entrance into the Main Gate of the Center, please park in the Visitor’s Parking Lot outside of the gate on the right and enter the Badge and Pass Office. Once inside, inform the attendants of your status and they will provide a temporary badge. They will, if asked, also provide an internal map with directions to Building 1195C, Room 156 to report in and begin your in processing. Please report promptly at 8:00 a.m. For questions dealing with reporting or in processing, please call (757) 864-2588.

For information relating to health and insurance benefits, please contact NASA Shared Services Center at (877) 677-2123. A web page has been designed to familiarize new employees with NASA Langley Research Center and provide information for all employees on Human Resource guidelines and policies at http://ohcm.larc.nasa.gov.

Our Human Capital Office will enroll you into the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Investigative Services (IS) Electronic Questionnaire for Investigations Processing (e-qip) web site. You will receive an email with instructions on how to complete and submit the required investigative questionnaire that OPM-IS needs to initiate and conduct your background investigation.
