CENTER DIRECTOR'S WELCOME

Center Director - Roy D. Bridges, Jr

Center Director - Lesa B. Roe

Welcome to the Langley Research Center and our NASA family. NASA Langley, founded in 1917, is the nation’s first civilian aeronautical research facility and NASA’s oldest field center. You are joining a team of men and women who have been the pioneers and innovators expanding horizons and opening frontiers for our explorers in aeronautics and space. We hope this will be the beginning of an exciting and successful chapter in your career.

Our Center develops and transfers critical technologies that address national priorities in aeronautic applications, space exploration, and earth sciences. Our work is focused on research for aerospace systems design, atmospheric sciences, biological and physical research, communications technologies, advanced materials and structures, and instrumentation and controls for space, aeronautics, and aerospace applications.

Our NASA Values are Safety, Teamwork, Integrity, and Mission Success. You will find information posted about our values at http://employeeorientation.nasa.gov/main/CoreValues.htm I truly hope that you will see them in action in everything that we do.

This website was created to provide information on a number of important aspects of your orientation to the Center. If you have comments about the site or need assistance, please contact the Office of Human Capital Management. Your supervisor will be a key player in your orientation to the Center, as will the support staff in your organization and your co-workers. Please feel free to raise questions as that is the hallmark of the kind of Center that we want to have.

Here at Langley we pride ourselves on playing an essential role in meeting the Agency's mission. We look forward to working with you as we make this journey together.

Again welcome aboard,

Lesa
